Modelling Human Excellence
The purpose of NLP is to study, describe and transfer models of human excellence. As a meta-discipline it focuses on the discovery and coding of those patterns of human behaviour which distinguish excellent performance from average performance in any human endeavour.
It is these distinguishing patterns which combine to form the practical, reliable and learnable techniques and methodologies called NLP.

Neuro Linguistic Training Programs
As forerunners in the teaching of NLP in Australia in the late 80’s and early 90’s, LeaderVision has been delighted by the popularity and expansion of interest in NLP today. The large number of trainers and life coaches who are now teaching applications of NLP and the integration of NLP into business has been encouraging.
Of concern however has been the tendency for some trainers to present NLP as a quick fix which can be learnt in very short courses. The difficulty is one which is fully appreciated by the directors of LeaderVision. There is a great temptation to bow to the demands of the public and offer courses which are easy to digest and don’t take up too much time.
However to really learn NLP well, so that its wide ranging applications are available to you every minute of every day – on an unconscious level – NLP must be generic and learned epistemologically and for maximum behaviour-al flexibility – and this does take time.
It’s the old principle of spending time to save time. If you really want to gain the immense advantages that come from applying NLP to the specific needs and requirements of your own life then it is worth taking the time to do it well.

LeaderVision now offers an annual certification course in Practitioner of NLP which will be held in North eastern Victoria at Beechworth. This is available as 3 short courses making up the program: Introduction to NLP | Practitioner of Essential NLP | Practitioner of NLP (Advanced)

For most of us, time is a precious resource , so our program has been designed especially to allow you to choose the level of skill you really want. Our proven eclectic mix of Classic and New Code NLP offers the best training, allowing you to develop the confidence that comes from really knowing what you are doing and how you are doing it. Enjoy small, interactive classes with low trainer/student ratios designed to offer personal tuition.
From time to time - and as requested a Master Practitioner of NLP program will be offered. Before we can offer this, there will need to be a sufficient number of qualified Practitioners of NLP who are interested and ready to enrol.
LeaderVision is unlikely to offer its Trainer of NLP course again, however, in the event that other trainers and/or NLP schools wish to run LeaderVision's Trainer of NLP program, Roger will be happy to be a guest trainer.
What to expect when you learn NLP with LeaderVision

Dr John Grinder, co-creator of NLP, refers to NLP as an epistemology (the study of how we know what we know) and a meta discipline, he says, “NLP is a meta discipline which focuses on the discovery and coding of patterns which distinguish the most capable of practitioners of some particular discipline (managerial practice, medical practice, sports, therapy…) from the average practitioner. These distinguishing patterns are the substance of NLP.”
Having a rich explicit understanding of the epistemological foundations of NLP is of fundamental importance for those wishing to become Master Practitioners of NLP. It is this that supports Practitioners in modelling human excellence.
Integration of learnings is assured every step of the way; each successive course will review, integrate and expand on the learnings from earlier courses. - Introduction to NLP: a 3-day start-up course offering excellent basic observation, skill training, rapport building and goal setting.
- Practitioner of Essential NLP: a 6-day course for those who have completed the Introduction to NLP and want more. This course covers essential leadership, business and organisational communication skills. On your satisfactory completion of this course you will obtain a Certificate in Practitioner of Essential NLP.
- Advanced Practitioner of NLP: a 9-day course following Essential NLP and teaching you to observe the patterns of people's speech, involuntary movements and actions, and how to understand and interpret these unconscious behaviours. On your satisfactory completion of this course you will obtain a Practitioner of NLP Certificate endorsed by the Professional Guild of NLP.
- Master Practitioner of NLP: a graduate program (pre-requisite is the 18-day Practitoner of NLP) starting where most Master Practitioner courses finish. Offering advanced NLP modelling using internal and external models you will gain the advanced skills which will allow you to become a true agent of change. Onyour satisfactory completion of this course you will obtain a Master Practitioner of NLP Certificate. (not taking enrolments at this time - but welcoming expressions of interest)
Choosing a Business or Professional short course
Short, business and professional training courses are offered by the Organisational Development Group The design of these courses integrates NLP with Spiral Dynamics-integral and other related models and concepts. (also see www.holonbusinessgroup.com.au).
These programs are available to everyone who is interested and are especially useful to organisations that can progressively send selected members of their operating teams to experience the trainings. Once ‘critical mass’ is achieved, LeaderVision can enter the operating environment in workshop mode to apply the tools to specific issues and the further enhancement of advanced trainings.
The benefits of this approach are seen in the following ways:
- Organisations are able to utilise the scarcest resource their team has: time. The team can be sent in stages, and there is no requirement to leave the project or profit centre unattended.
- The skills are learnt and practiced in the “safe” environment of the neuro linguistic classroom before being used in the office or work environment.
- Members of the team are taken out of their operating paradigm, and able to discuss and practice the tools with fellow students who are at their level of responsibility but in different organisations. This exposes them to different ideas and facilitates an expansion and change in habitual thinking patterns.
The next step is customised in-house training. Often, the timing of this is determined by an event (variously, the team may face a dilemma on which path to take; or have a negotiation of importance to undertake; or be preparing for a team presentation). At this time the power of the tools is undeniable in producing the result.
